Maïté Seimetz

Architectural designer and artist with focus on virtual scenography, digital performance and character design.

Maïté’s work transcribes the real into the digital and vice-versa, creating surreal mutations which hybridise these two worlds in an immersive and theatrical manner. Her practice is centred around digital methodologies like 3D scanning, motion tracking, digital sculpture, animation and AR/VR technology.

After graduating from the Bartlett School of Architecture, she has extended her interdisciplinary design research into the performative potential of digital architecture and the emotive trajectory spatial narratives can instigate.

Often grotesque and uncanny, her work reflects on the interconnection between humans, objects and environments, seeking to deconstruct the boundaries between animate and inanimate to speculate on new forms of coexistence.
