Maïté Seimetz
Born in 1995 in Luxembourg (LU)
Based between Luxembourg (LU) and Paris (FR)

Maïté Seimetz is a Luxembourgish architectural designer and artist, whose often grotesque and uncanny work reflects on the interconnection between humans, objects and environments and seeks to deconstruct the boundaries between animate and inanimate. Her work transcribes the real into the digital and vice-versa by creating surreal mutations which hybridise these two worlds in an immersive and theatrical manner. Her practice is centred around digital methodologies like 3D printing, digital sculpture, animation and AR/VR technology.

After graduating from the Bartlett School of Architecture, she has developed an interdisciplinary approach to design, as she practices as a designer with the creative liberty of an artist. Her inevitably surreal worlds and creatures become a tool to speculate on new forms of coexistence and explore the narrative and performative potential of digital space.
